CobraNet Receive Channels
Each CobraNet Bundle contains up to eight digital audio channels. Each channel is selected
at its respective transmitter to contain none, 16-, 20- or 24-bit audio sample data. A total of
two audio channels can be processed by the PIP-USP3/CN at any one time. Any of the
eight channels on a bundle can be can be routed to either of the two processing channel
inputs on the PIP-USP3/CN.
Channel Label: Each received digital audio channel can be assigned a user-specified
label to indicate intended use, source or other information. The label is stored in presets
along with the bundle number and receive channel information.
5.5.3 CobraNet Output Routing
CobraNet output routing includes the following controls:
CobraNet Transmit Bundles
The PIP-USP3/CN can transmit up to four unique CobraNet Bundles (TxA, TxB, TxC, TxD).
Each Transmit Bundle includes the following controls and monitor functions:
Receiver Count: This meter reports the number of CobraNet nodes actively receiving
the Bundle being sourced to the network by this bundle.
Transmit Position: This meter reports the transmitter’s relative position as assigned by
th e CobraNet Conductor. Lower numbers are transmitted before higher numbers.
Transmit Priority: This control adjusts the relative priority for the particular transmit-
ter. Higher numbers indicate a higher priority. One may choose to increase the transmitter
priority for an emergency page microphone in a heavily loaded network. The Transmit Pri-
ority object is stored in presets.
CobraNet Transmit Channels
Each CobraNet Bundle can contain up to eight unique digital audio channels. Each channel
is selected at its respective transmitter to contain none, 16-, 20- or 24-bit audio sample
data. A total of 32 channels can be transmitted by a single PIP-USP3/CN at any one time;
however, only 4 channels can be sent on up to four Bundles. The CobraNet Transmit Chan-
nel object is stored in presets.
Channel Label: Each transmitted digital audio channel can be assigned a user-speci-
fied label to indicate intended use, source or other information. The Channel Label object is
stored in presets. The USP3/CN provides four audio channels onto the CobraNet network.
Output Amplifier Audio: By sampling the actual output audio of the amplifer, Cobra-
Net allows remote access and monitoring of each amplifier channel at the output of the
amplifier! CobraNet extends the "Listen Bus" feature found on other PIP modules to any
network user, allowing them to listen to the output of any networked amplifier from any
location on the network.
• Balanced Audio Inputs: This allows the USP3/CN to be used not only as a CobraNet
receiver for amplifier audio, it provides a remote access point to allow audio to go onto the
CobraNet network. In applications where a single pair of audio inputs is required into
CobraNet, this feature provides a very cost effective means of CobraNet Input.
