12. ADJUST FAST IDLE SPEED
(a) Stop the engine and fu l ly pull out the choke knob .
(b) Disconnect the hose from the distr ib u to r main dia-
phragm and plug the hose end. This will cut the
vacuum advancer.
(c) Disconnect the hoses from ports of the VCV fo r
EVAP and EG R valve, and pl ug t he hose ends .

ll shut off the EVA P purge a nd EG R systems.
(d ) Ful ly open the choke va l ve.
(e) Start the engine.
(f) Set the fast id le speed by turni ng the fast idle adjust-
Ing screw.
Fa st idle speed: 1, 800 rpm
(9) Check that the engine returns to id le speed when the
choke button is pushed in all the way.
(hI Reconnect the hoses to the prope r locations.
