General Purpose Interface Modules
for MCN™ Monitoring and Control Systems

Introduction
The General Purpose Input/Output Modules
are part of CTI Products’ MCN™ Monitoring
and Control Network. Versions are available
with combinations of opto-isolated inputs, SSR
(Solid-State Relay) outputs, or mechanical
relay outputs. They can be used to monitor
and control a wide range of devices at remote
sites, including:
• Generators
• Doors / Intrusion alarms
• Door Locks
• Gate Controls
• Power Fail
• Temperature Alarms
• Microwave / T1 Link Status
• Tower Lights
Inputs
Inputs are optically-isolated and accept voltage
inputs of 12 - 24 VAC/VDC (nominal).
Outputs
Several output types are available:
• SSR (Solid-State Relay) with SPST
(Form A)
• Mechanical relay with SPDT (Form C)
• Magnetically latched relay with SPDT
(Form C)
• Latching or momentary outputs are
controlled in the MCNRCD software on
the PC.
PC Display
The PC display features real-time monitoring
of inputs. Outputs are controlled with a mouse
or keyboard. Input/Output names and screen
positions are user- configurable
User defined error conditions from Inputs can
be logged to the screen, disk, or printer to
provide an audit trail for easier problem
resolution.
