Setting Up Your Coffeemaker THE QUEST FOR THE PERFECT CUP OF COFFEE 1. Unwrap cord and plug the coffeemaker into a grounded outlet. Make sure to remove all stickers and packing materials from the unit. Element 1: Water 2. Place a large cup or mug (10 oz. minimum) on the drip tray. Coffee is 98% water. The quality of that water is as important as the quality of your coffee. If water doesn’t taste good from the tap, it won’t taste good in your coffee.
5. Flush filter by running fresh water through the hole in bottom of compartment for 10 seconds. Charcoal Water Filter 6. Allow the filter to drain completely. 7. Place the assembled water filter holder into the water reservoir, pushing it down to fit into place (see figure 3). 1. NOTE: The maximum capacity for ground coffee is 16 scoops (16 tablespoons) for this coffeemaker. Exceeding this amount may cause overflow if the coffee is too finely ground. Decalcification Decalcification refers to the removal of calcium deposits that form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. 5. Before brewing coffee Make sure the water reservoir is on the unit and the reservoir lid is on the reservoir. Plug into an electrical outlet.
