To remove, lift up where LIFT indicates. Cover separates into two pieces for easy cleaning. NOTE: Cover becomes hot after coffee is brewed. 18. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CONTROL PANEL Grind Off Button with LED Indicator Turns off the grinder when using preground coffee. Grind Control Knob Programs unit to grind the right amount of coffee beans for the number of cups and flavor strength selected. Our streamlined, push-button control panel is easy to read and easy to use. On/Off button with LED Indicator Manually turns coffeemaker on or off. Hour and Minute Buttons Use to program clock and Auto On function.
Exiting Set Program Time Mode a. Press and release Program button. b. Press any function button besides Hour or Minute to exit mode and activate the selected function. c. BEFORE BREWING YOUR FIRST POT OF COFFEE CHARCOAL WATER FILTER Your coffeemaker comes with a charcoal water filter that eliminates chlorine, bad tastes and odors from tap water. During the manufacturing process, dust can get trapped in your coffeemaker. We recommend flushing out the system before brewing your first pot of coffee. Simply follow “Making Coffee with PreGround Beans,” page 10.
• Basket-style paper filter: Be sure filter is fully opened and touching walls of basket. • Cuisinart commercial-style permanent filter: Position handle of our gold-tone filter toward front of coffeemaker so it does not obstruct water flow. Put filter basket cover in place, with arrows aligned, and push the filter basket door closed until you hear it snap shut. 6. After Brewing When brew cycle is complete, five beeps will sound. Coffee will continue to stream from the filter for several seconds.
4. Add Pre-Ground Coffee Use 1 level scoop of ground coffee per cup, or more or less according to individual taste. 3. CLEAN CHUTE Reminder If you do not clean the coffee chute when necessary, CLEAN CHUTE will appear in the LCD display to remind. We suggest cleaning regularly, with the frequency depending on the type of beans you are using. The coffeemaker will still operate, but coffee-buildup in the chute will hinder the flow of coffee which can result in weaker coffee flavor or a blockage of the chute in extreme cases.
