BEFORE FIRST USE
CHARCOAL WATER FILTER SETUP
12-CUP CARAFE BREWING

Fully immerse and soak
the 2 charcoal water
filters in cold tap water
for 15 minutes (see page 8 of
instruction booklet). Remove
water filter holders from both
12-Cup Coffeemaker and
Single-Serve reservoirs.

Press down and pull
forward on filter
compartments to open,
and place filters in holders.
Snap to close, run under
water for 10 seconds and
drain completely.

The Function
knob must be
set at PROG,
CLOCK, or AUTO
OFF position to
initiate instant
brewing. Press
CARAFE BREW to
start brewing. The
white light around
CARAFE BREW will
start ashing.

Fill water
reservoir on
carafe side to
desired level (water
level indicator on
side of unit). If not
already done, press
the ON/OFF button
on the control panel.

Slide filter holders back
into channels
in reservoirs.

Insert #4 lter
or permanent
lter into lter
basket and add 1
level scoop of
ground coffee per
cup. Do not exceed
15 tablespoons.
Follow steps 1–3 in CHARCOAL WATER FILTER SETUP to prepare the water ltration system.
To thoroughly rinse the machine, follow steps 1–3 for 12-CUP CARAFE BREWING
only using water (without coffee).
Follow steps 1–4 for SINGLE-SERVE BREWING only using water (without a capsule).
