A flush valve is used to omit the occasional appearance of
carbon particles and/or fines that may be present after
changing a carbon filter. Carbon fines are harmless but can
be noticeable in the ice or water for the first few days after a
installing a new cartridge change.
PLACEMENT:
Locate your FVK-100 Flush Valve on the outlet side of
your water filter, between the filter and appliance. It
should be located in an area that allows easy access
during cartridge changes and is close to a drain for
flushing.
INSTALLATION:
1. Turn off water supply.
2. Using a tube cutter (copper tube) or utility knife
(plastic tubing) cut the tube where you have chosen
to install the FVK-100 Flush Valve.
Note: For proper fit into the fittings, cut tube squarely
and remove any burrs. The tube end should be round
in shape.
3. Insert tubes into the tee (fig. #1). Tube should be
inserted 5/8" until it stops.
4. Optional step: If routing the drain tube to the drain,
connect one end of optional 1/4" tubing to the shut
off valve. Insert tube 5/8" into the fitting until it

stops. Position tube to drain. Be careful not to crimp
tube.
CAUTION: Do not position drain tube into the drainpipe.

filtration system and air gap of 2" between the end
of the tube and the drain opening is required.
5. Installation of your FVK-100 is now complete.
FLUSHING:
Note: Consult your owner’s manual for proper flushing
procedures of your unit.To Open—Position FVK-100
valve handle parallel to the valve body. (Fig. #1)
To Close—Position FVK-100 valve handle perpendicular
to the valve body. (Fig. #1)
