5 Ethernet Connection Installation

NOTE: IMPORTANT: Leave a filled-out copy of this sheet (chapter) with the customer
for future reference.
This generator set provides in-home network capability and Internet connectivity. It is the
owner's responsibility to provide a network specialist for these connections and setup.
The following gives guidance for gathering information and materials needed for a network
specialist to enable all features.
NOTE: Prior to installation, please review and verify that all requirements are met.
5.1 Network Connectivity Options
Network connectivity includes in-home Network access to the generator set, e-mail notification
and remote internet access.
5.2 Material/Cable Routing
Route the Cat 5 Ethernet cable from the generator with the control lines and display cable
(display may be mounted in the house) to the transfer switch and into the house. Be sure to
make the cable long enough to reach the network router.
Install connectors on both ends of the cable.
5.3 Network Information Needed For Setup
The following sections will help with gathering information required for a successful installation.
5.3.1 Network Router
This will support in-home network access to the generator set.
The following information is needed to configure the genset from dynamic addressing to static.
