Fuel Supply Lines (006-024)
General Information
Due to the number of different fuel supply line routings
and connector styles, the steps in this procedure have
been written to be generic. Some of the illustrations may
not represent the parts being removed or installed.
WARNING
Be sure that the fuel inlet and return valves are
returned to the open position before cranking engine.
Engine damage can result if valves are in the wrong
position when engine is cranked or started.
Environmental damage can also occur. Refer to
Procedure Procedure 005-999 (Fuel System Overview)
in Familiarization section for further information.
WARNING
The pressure within the fuel rail is extremely high.
High pressure can penetrate the skin. Stand clear of
the engine while it is running.
WARNING
The fuel pump high-pressure fuel lines and fuel rail
contain very high pressure fuel. To avoid the
possibility of personal injury, never loosen any
fittings while the engine is running.
WARNING
Fuel can be returned at highly elevated temperatures.
Wear safety glasses, protective gloves, and clothing
when performing this test. Avoid any contact with
returned fuel.
Directions for service of a white tang quick-disconnect
fitting:
Push in white tang to release fuel line.
Pull to lock fuel line.
