Finishing Steps
CAUTION
Always vent the engine during filling to remove air
from the coolant system, or overheating can result.
On marine applications with heat exchangers, install the
heat exchanger coolant hose.Refer to Procedure 008-053.
Fill the cooling system.Refer to Procedure 008-018.
NOTE: On engines with EGR, the pipe plug in the EGR
coolant line must be removed during filling.
NOTE: Marine applications vent air from the vent on top
of the engine coolant outlet connection.
WARNING
Batteries can emit explosive gases. To reduce the
possibility of personal injury, always ventilate the
compartment before servicing the batteries. To
reduce the possibility of arcing, remove the negative
(-) battery cable first and attach the negative (-)
battery cable last.
Connect the batteries.Refer to Procedure 013-009.
