1. Locate the left and right frame rails under the rear of the car. Remove the tie down brackets (two 10mm
screws each) and the plastic shield at the rear corner of the rails. Use phillips screw driver to pry plastic
expansion plug out. Also remove the screw fastening the muffler shield at the bottom of the right rail.
Hammer the edge of the heat shield flat against the frame rail. The heat shield will be sandwiched
between the hitch and frame. Return all parts to the car's owner should the hitch ever be removed.
2. Lift the hitch into position on the frame rails. Fasten the hitch to the frame rails as shown. With the hitch
bolted into position; use the hitch as a template to drill holes for the rear most fasteners. Remove the
hitch from the car.
3. Using an 1 1/4" hole saw, make one clearance hole in the bottom surface of each frame rail located as
shown in the diagram so it will be covered when the hitch is installed. These holes provide access to
fishwire carriage bolts and backing plates into the frame rails with the threaded end extending from holes.
4. Reinstall the hitch on the car being careful to not push the carriage bolts out. Complete the installation using
the balance of the fasteners called out in the diagram. Be careful to use washers as shown.
5. Torque all 10mm fasteners to 48 lb-ft and all 7/16" fasteners to 70 lb-ft.
