Step 1
Open the driver-side door and remove the access panel under
the steering wheel by turning the locking knobs 90 degrees
counter-clockwise (A). Locate the vehicle wiring harness it will
be to the left of the steering column taped to another harness (B).
Step 2
Insert the custom wiring harness 10-pin connector with
the black converter attached into the vehicle wiring harness
connector. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with
locking tabs in place.
Step 3
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector such as
an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame or drill a 3/32"
pilot hole for the provided screw. The area should be free of
rust, dirt and paint. Secure the white ground wire using the ring
terminal and provided screw.
WARNING: Check for miscellaneous items that may be
hidden behind or under any surface before drilling to avoid
damage and / or personal injury.
Step 4
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle, under the dash. Adhere
the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.
Step 5
Open the vehicle tailgate and remove the cargo nets and the
cargo area floor cover to access the spare tire area (C).
Step 6
On the driver side, locate the vehicle wiring harness. It will be
mounted on the rear scuff panel (D). Remove the protective
cover (E). Insert the custom wiring harness into the vehicle
harness. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with
locking tabs in place (F).
Step 7
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out
of the trunk. When not in use, roll up and store in a convenient,
out of the way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires
with the provided cable ties.
Step 8
Reinstall all items removed during install. Install the
provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
