CHEVROLET IMPALA
1. Open the trunk and remove the rear scuff
panel (A), by pulling up. On both sides of the
trunk remove two plastic wing nuts (B) and
pull back on the felt trunk liner behind the
taillights to reveal the 2 plastic wing nuts
holding the taillight in place (C).
2. On the drivers side behind the felt trunk
liner remove the (2) remaining wingnuts
holding the taillight in place (C). Pull out the
taillight to to locate the vehicles taillight
wiring harness (D). The harness will have
connectors similar to those on the
T-connector. Separate the connectors taking
care not to damage the locking tabs. Route
the T-connector end with the yellow wire up
through the opening under the taillight (E).
Insert the T-connector end with the yellow
wire between the seperated connectors.
Make sure the connectors are fully inserted
with locking tabs in place.
3. Repeat Step 2 on the passenger side using
the T-connector end with the green wire.
WARNING!
Verify miscellaneous items that may be
hidden behind or under any surface before
drilling to avoid damage and/or personal
injury.
4. Locate a suitable grounding point near the
connector such as an existing screw with nut
in the vehicle’s frame or drill a 3/32” hole
and secure white ground wire using eyelet
and screw provided.
5.Secure the 4-flat to the center of the
vehicle in a convenient out of the way
location. Secure any loose wires with the
cable ties provided. Re-install the wing nuts,
rear scuff panel, taillights and felt trunk liner.
