DISSASSEMBLING THE Scout TD MODEL
1. Verify that the barrel is unloaded before you begin by pulling the breeching lever
to the rear, pivoting the barrel forward and visually inspecting that the barrel is
unloaded and unobstructed.
2. Return the barrel to the closed position.
3. Pull outward on the forend latch and remove the forend from the barrel.
4. Pull the breeching lever to the rear and carefully pivot the barrel off of the frame.
5. To reassemble: Align the barrel lug with the pivot pin and rotate into the closed
position.
6. Align the forend to the front of the pivot pin and rotate into position. Gently
press the forend to the bottom of the barrel until it is locked in place.
NOTE: The forend and forend lug have adjustment screws that are pre-set at the
factory and these should not be tampered with unless the forend mechanism has
become lose or worn. If your forend has looseness or excess play follow these
instructions to properly adjust the fi t:
1. Note that sc
rew A has a lock nut and screw B has a set screw. These must be
loosened to allow adjustments to be made.
2. If the forend has excessive fore and aft play, adjust screw B outward to remove
the play.
3. If the forend latch is too loose, adjust screw A outward to remove the play.
4. If the forend cannot be installed because it will not lock into place, turn both
screw A and B inwards. First adjust screw B out to remove the fore and aft play,
then adjust screw A out until the forend latch secures the forend without play.
5. Tighten the lock nut and lock screw.
