Glossary
The glossary provides definitions of terms used in this user’s guide
that you may find unfamiliar.
Term Description
chapter A marker set in a video clip in order allow
viewers to jump to that specific point for
navigation purposes.
clip A video, audio, or image file that has been
loaded into PowerDirector’s Library for use in
your movie.
color filter An option in PiP effects that makes a selected
color transparent, allowing the underlying clip
to show through in the transparent areas.
deinterlacing Methods used to reduce or eliminate the
decrease in video quality caused by
interlacing.
DV (Digital Video) Refers to the capturing,
manipulation and storage of video in digital
formats. The DV format is an international
standard for consumer use created in 1995 by a
consortium of companies.
DVD folder A folder containing all of the media files for
your production that can be burned to a disc
for storage.
