When you paste, clips appear at the current position of the Timeline
slider. If that position occurs within the duration of a media clip, the
new clip is pasted immediately after that clip. If the Timeline slider is
positioned in a gap between clips, the new clip is pasted and truncated
(if necessary) to fit in the gap (PiP/Music/Voice tracks only). If the
Timeline slider is positioned after the last clip, the new clip is pasted
immediately after the last clip.
Align Clips in the Timeline
You can align PiP, effect and title clips to the edge of the clip above
them in the Master Video Track to ensure their starting and ending
times coincide.
To align a clip, right-click it in the timeline, then select Align to Edge.
The Align to Edge dialog box opens.
The Align Left tab displays options for stretching the clip’s left edge. The
following options are available:
• Extend to the left edge: Extends the clip to the next available
border to the left in the Master Video Track.
• Shrink to the right edge: Shrinks the clip to the next available
border to the right in the Master Video Track.
The Align Right tab displays options for stretching the clip’s right edge.
