Network Configuration
Before you can access or share media files over the network with
CyberLink SoftDMA and a Digital Media Server, you first need to make
sure your network is properly configured and working:
Verify that your computer has a physical connection to the
network. The back of each network adapter in a desktop
computer has visible lights. These lights indicate a good
connection. If you are using a hub or a switch to connect the
computers, make sure that the hub or the switch is turned on
and that the lights are on for each client connection. This
indicates a good link.
Make sure that all computers have TCP/IP installed and activated.
TCP/IP is always installed on Windows Vista. Click Start - Settings
- Control Panel. Select Network and Internet Connections and
then select View network status and tasks under Network and
Sharing Center. On the Tasks tab, click on Manage network
connections, right click on the Local Area Connection icon that
connects to your network and select Properties. Click Continue
if the UAC dialog pops up. Make sure Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is
installed and checked off. Click OK to apply your changes.
