voltage. The cause of this error can usually be attributed to noise or
“interference” from the power line. An electrical device with a high speed
motor, such as a vacuum, blender, or power saw, on a local power line can
sometimes cause this error. If this error occurs, check to make sure the
treadmill is installed on a dedicated line and re-cycle the power to the machine
by switching the main ON/OFF power switch to “OFF” for five seconds and
then switching it back “ON.” If the problem persists, contact Cybex, your local
Cybex dealer or authorized Cybex service representative.
ERR 5: Elevation Error
This error code indicates a problem with the elevation circuitry. If the elevation
does not reach a destination within about 30 seconds (the maximum run time
from 0% to 15% grade), an error is generated and the elevation may be
disabled by software. Another instance could be the lack of crossing the 0%
grade point which is signaled by a “zero” switch in the left rack assembly. This
switch has an indicating LED on the lower board and should be the first item
checked. Another cause of this error could be no movement of the elevation at
all for 2 seconds or a breakdown of the encoder built in to the rear of the
elevation motor.
Any of these cases can cause the elevation to be shut down and left inoperable
by the display software and must be repaired before operation of the elevation
can resume. Once repaired, a full-calibration cycle must be generated by
turning the power on or doing a calibration in diagnostics (d4, pressing the v
arrow and + keys at the same time) and deleting the error in the error log (d11)
to keep track of future errors. If the elevation is disabled by software, dashes
may be displayed in the elevation window to indicate this to the user. If the
elevation is stuck in the full up or full down position, you can manually move it
in diagnostics 4 (d4), Incline Sensor Test, by using the v
^
arrow keys.
ERR 6: Overspeed
This error code indicates a problem with the speed control circuitry. It can
occur if the treadmill recognizes a discrepancy in the actual belt speed vs. the
speed set at the control panel. If the actual speed of the belt is 1 mph (1.6 kph)
over the set speed for 0.2 seconds or 2 mph (3.2 kph) below the set speed for
2 seconds, this error code will be displayed.
If the speed attempts to increase, it may be because of a defect in the power
supply circuitry to the drive motor, the speed sensor, or the filter capacitor.
If the speed attempts to decrease, it is most often because a person is pushing
on the belt. Or it may be because of a defect in the drive motor, the speed
sensor, or a worn running deck.
If either of these conditions exist, call your local Cybex dealer, authorized
