Response View Range Adjustment
It is now possible to select a “zoomed out” level scale to show the roll-off of crossover filters more clearly, as the 4 Series
units can provide much sharper slopes than were previously possible with the DP224/6/6i. Roll-offs well above 48dB are
achievable - please see the section entitled “Enhanced Filter Set Usage” on page on page 48 for details of this.
The range is adjusted by right clicking on a
frequency response window (in the same way
as selecting the phase response, as shown on
the previous page), where the range can be
chosen. For example – if the standard range of
+
18dB is chosen, the contribution of some
filters placed on the edges of the crossover
regions may not be seen, especially in the case
of 48dB high and low pass filters.
In this case, there is a notch filter set to just
below 100Hz, and a parametric band boosted
but apparently above the low pass crossover
(shadow EQ shows this parametric’s
response).
Changing the scaling to show a 72dB range, the
notch and PEQ’s response can be easily seen,
and their effect on the overall output better
judged.
This scaling is also now used on the Global
View display, but can be changed at will by a
right click on this screen.
