Section 1 ‐ Product Overview Introduction Features Use Motion Detection to Automatically Turn on Your Appliances The DCH‐G022 mydlink™ Connected Home Hub is a Z‐Wave gateway used to control a variety of Z‐Wave sensors for home automation. The DCH‐G022 communicates with other Z‐Wave and D‐Link Connected Home devices, letting you manage your home automation system on a single platform either at home or on‐the‐go. Simply put, the DCH‐G022 is the control center to your home automation system.

Section 2 ‐ Installation Wireless Installation Factors The mydlink™ Connected Home Hub lets you automate appliances using your existing wireless network. Keep in mind, however, that the number, thickness, and location of walls, ceilings, or other objects that the wireless signals must pass through, may limit the range. Typical ranges vary depending on the types of materials and background RF (radio frequency) noise in your home or business.
Section 2 ‐ Installation Hardware Installation Mounting Your Device (Optional) Step 1: Place the mounting bracket where you want to position the hub and use a pencil to mark the holes. Step 2: Depending on the material of the wall or ceiling, use proper tools to drill two holes 25 mm deep with a 6 mm drill bit where you marked. After drilling the holes, insert plastic anchors to support the screws. Step 3: If desired, cables can be concealed behind the mounting bracket.
Section 2 ‐ Installation Step 4: Fasten the mounting bracket to the wall using the screws provided. Step 5: Line up the holes on the device with the tabs on the mount and slide the device towards the wall to fasten the hub to the mounting bracket. Connect the power cable to the hub.
Section 2 ‐ Installation Setting Up Your Device To install your DCH‐G022, first download and install the mydlink™ Home app on your mobile device. This app will walk you through installing and configuring your DCH‐G022. Step 1: On your mobile device, download mydlink Home by going to mydlinkhomeapp.dlink.com, or by searching for mydlink Home in the App Store or Google Play. Step 2: Launch the mydlink Home app and create a new account or sign in to your existing account.
Section 2 ‐ Installation Once you have set up your DCH‐G022, you can tap on the device icon to view information such as your network details and also perform a factory reset. Please consult your devices’ instruction manual to connect it to your mydlink™ Connected Home Hub. After you have paired your Connected Home device with the DCH‐G022, you can customize your home’s automation policies. • To create new policies for devices connected to your DCH‐G022, please go to My Actions on page 15.
Section 3 ‐ Usage mydlink™ Home My Devices Tapping a connected device under the My Devices page will take you to the device’s settings. Motion Enable or disable motion detection. Detection: Last Detection: Displays the last time the sensor detected motion. Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity of the sensor to motion. Information: This page will show detailed information about the product and your network. You can also perform a factory reset here by tapping Reset.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Schedule You can customize schedules for when your DCH‐G022 will be active in this section. There are two types of schedules you can configure: Basic and Advanced. The Basic type lets you set a specific time and cycle for select days. The Advanced type lets you specify different timeframes for each day of the week.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Tapping + on the top right corner of the Advanced schedule page will take you to the page where you can select different days and times that the device will be active in a table. Simply tap and drag the bars in the table to adjust the times. Tap x to delete a specific time. After the schedule is set, go back to the previous page and tick the radio button next to the rule to activate it.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Information This page shows your product and related network details. Product Name: Displays the product model. mydlink Num‐ Displays the mydlink number assigned to this ber: device. MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the device. IP Address: Displays the LAN IP Address of the device. Firmware Displays the version of the firmware. Version: Factory Reset: Tap Reset to perform a factory reset.
Section 3 ‐ Usage My Actions This page lets you add and enable/disable rules which execute actions such as notifications when your DCH‐G022 detects motion. Tap to switch between pages. 1. To add a new action for you device, tap on New action. 2. Type in a name for this action. Tap Done when you’ve finished inputting the name. 3. To select the device you want to use as the trigger for this action, tap + then choose from the list of devices.
Section 3 ‐ Usage 4. Select from the available conditions for this device and tap Next. 5. Tap + to select from the available responders for this device.
Section 3 ‐ Usage 6. Select from the available responders for this device. In this example we have chosen to send a notification. 7. Check the action settings and tap Done to finish. 8. To delete the rule, simply swipe right on the rule to show the trash icon. Tap on the icon to delete it.
Section 3 ‐ Usage My Places This page lets you add devices into a group so you can easily see which devices are in a particular location. 1. To create a group, tap New group. 2. On the New Group page, tap the icon to choose an icon or photo for the group. Tap next to it to enter a name for the group. Then tap the + icon to add devices. 3. Tick the devices to be included in this group and tap Done.
Section 3 ‐ Usage 4. Your group is created and will show up in My Places. Tapping each device in the group will take you to their settings. You can tap the icon to activate/deactivate the device.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Advanced Configuration The DCH‐G022 has a web configuration for users who wish to set advanced settings. To go to the configuration page, open your browser and enter the IP address of your Z‐Wave hub. For the User Name, enter admin. For the password, enter the 6‐digit PIN code on the device label.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Firmware Upgrade To upgrade the firmware on your DCH‐G022, visit the D‐Link support website at http://support.dlink.com/ and download the latest firmware file for your device. You can then upload the file from this page to being the upgrade process.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Factory Default To reset your DCH‐G022 to its factory default settings, click Restore Factory Defaults. You also have the option to reset the device settings without removing configurations for your Z‐Wave controller by clicking Partial Reset.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Z‐Wave Main The Z‐Wave Main page lets you manage Z‐Wave devices connected to your DCH‐G022. Include New A device must be “included” to the Z‐Wave Device: network before it can be controlled via Z‐W ave(DCH‐G022). This process (also known as “pairing” and “adding”) is achieved by pressing/(hold for 5 seconds) “Wireless button” Exclude De‐ on DCH‐G022 or pushing the [Include NEW vice: Device]([Exclude Device]) button on GUI being into the inclusion(exclusion) mode.
Section 3 ‐ Usage Z‐Wave Nodes This page lets you manage the advanced features of other Z‐Wave sensors. To remove the failed node: To replace the failed node. Send the BASIC SET ON command to switch the node ON. Send the BASIC SET OFF command to switch the node OFF. Send the BASIC GET command to the selected node.
Section 5 ‐ Troubleshooting Troubleshooting How do I reset the DCH‐G022? When you reset your DCH‐G022, it will change your settings back to the factory default settings. To reset the device, locate the Reset button on the side of the device. With the device plugged in, press and hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds until the Power LED turns red.
