Product Overview Introduction D-Link DCS-7110 is an all-in-one, outdoor network camera equipped with industry-leading high definition (HD) megapixel resolution and H.264 compression. The DCS-7110 connects to a network to provide high-quality live video over the Internet. This camera is capable of capturing video in both dark and light environments thanks to its built-in IR LEDs and IR-cut removable (ICR) filter.
Product Overview Features Flexible Connectivity The DCS-7110 includes input and output ports for connectivity to external devices such as IR sensors, switches, and alarm relays. It also comes with an RS-485 interface, providing connectivity to an optional pan/tilt scanner. Product Overview Cable Connectors Ethernet (PoE) RJ-45 connector is for Ethernet and can also be used to power the camera using PoE DC Power Connects to the 12 V DC power adapter to power the camera Reset Button Press and hold this button for 10 seconds to reset the camera to the factory default settings AC & RS-485 Connectors 24 V AC power wiring can be connected to the AC connectors to power the camera. Installation Installation Hardware Installation Ceiling Mount 1. Locate an area on the ceiling which is capable of supporting the weight of the camera. 2. Mark and drill three pilot holes aligned to the screw holes at the base of the mounting bracket. 3. Insert the plastic anchors into the pilot holes, and align the holes at the base of the camera bracket with the plastic anchors. 4. Once aligned, insert the provided screws through the holes at the base of the camera bracket. 5.
Installation Wall Mount 1. Locate an area on the wall which is capable of supporting the weight of the camera. 2. Installation Cable Connections Basic Connection (without PoE) 1. Connect the camera to your switch or router via Ethernet cable. 2. Connect the power cable from the camera to the supplied power adapter. 3. Connect the supplied power adapter to a power outlet. Connection Using a PoE Switch If using a PoE switch or router, connect the network camera via Ethernet cable. PoE will transmit both power and data over a single cable. Note: Once power has been established, the LED will turn red.
Installation Software Installation Setup Wizard Insert the DCS-7110 CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive to begin the installation. If the Autorun function on your computer is disabled, or if the D-Link Launcher fails to start automatically, click Start > Run. Type D:\autorun.exe, where D: represents the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive. Click Setup Wizard to begin the installation. After clicking Setup Wizard, the window on the right will open. Click Next to continue.
Installation Click Yes to accept the License Agreement. To start the installation process, click Next. Note: The installation may take several minutes to finish.
Installation Click Finish to complete the installation. Click on the D-Link Setup Wizard SE icon that was created in your Windows Start menu.
Installation The Setup Wizard will appear and display the MAC address and IP address of your camera(s). If you have a DHCP server on your network, a valid IP Address will be displayed. If your network does not use a DHCP server, the network camera's default static IP address 192.168.0.20 will be displayed. Click the Wizard button to continue. Enter the Admin ID and password. When logging in for the first time, the default Admin ID is admin with the password left blank.
Installation Select DHCP if your camera obtains an IP address automatically when it boots up. Select static IP if the camera will use the same IP address each time it is started. Click Next to proceed to the next page. Take a moment to confirm your settings and click Restart.
Installation D-ViewCam Device Pack Setup D-ViewCam software is included for the administrator to manage multiple D-Link IP cameras remotely. You may use the software to configure all the advanced settings for your cameras. D-ViewCam is a comprehensive management tool for IP surveillance. Device Pack Installation Users who already have D-ViewCam v3.10 or higher installed must first install the Device Pack included on the DCS-7110 CD-ROM to use the DCS-7110 camera with D-ViewCam.
Configuration Configuration Web-based Configuration Utility This section will show you how to configure your new D-Link Network Camera using the Web-based Configuration Utility. To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer and enter the IP address for your Network Camera (http://192.168.1.179). Note: For example, the address is 192.168.1.179. Your address may differ. Enter Admin for the username and then leave the password blank by default. Click OK to continue.
Configuration Live Video When you connect to the camera's web interface you will see the following page. This is the Live Video page which will allow you to view the camera's video feed and control basic camera functions using the icons on the screen. Please refer to the tables on the following pages for detailed information about the icons on this screen.
Configuration D-Link Logo Click this logo to visit the D-Link website. The logos and website can be customized to fit your needs. For more information, please refer to User Customization on page 62. Securicam Logo Client Settings Language Setup Setup the stream transmission mode and saving options on the local computer. Select this option to adjust the language settings. Click on the setup icon on the main page to enter the camera setting pages.
Configuration This camera supports both “digital“ (e-PTZ) and “mechanical“ pan/tilt/ zoom control. Please refer to PTZ Control for detailed information. Digital PTZ Control Panel Mechanical PTZ Control Panel* Mechanical PTZ: Connect the camera to a PTZ driver or scanner via RS-485 interface. PTZ Control Digital PTZ: Control the e-PTZ operation. It allows users to quickly move the focus to a target area for close-up viewing without physically moving the camera.

TCP: Provides higher quality video streaming than UDP and provides error correction. However, transmission speed will be reduced.
Configuration Setup The DCS-7110 includes basic and advanced setup screens. Both screens include a tree view with multiple setup options. This manual includes detailed explanations for all advanced setup screens. Basic Setup Click the setup button to enter the setup screen. Click on the basic button to enter the setup screen. Configuration System Overview The system overview page contains a summary of the camera's current settings. For more information about adjusting these settings, please consult the subsequent instructions found in this manual.
Configuration Video Video Settings This page allows you to set up 4 video streams to be displayed on a computer, mobile device, or storage system. Each stream has independent options for proper compression type, frame size, frame rate to optimize the bandwidth utilization and video quality. Video Options Viewing Window: The camera supports multiple streams with frame size ranging from 176 x 144 to 1280 x 800. Click Viewing Window to open the viewing region setting page.
Configuration Once finished with the setting in the Viewing Window, click Save to enable the settings and click Close to exit the window. The selected Output Frame Size will immediately be applied to the Frame size of video stream. You can then go back to the Live Video to test the new settings. Sensor Setting: Click Sensor Setting to open the Sensor Setting page. On this page, you can set the maximum exposure time, exposure level, and AGC (Auto Gain Control) setting.
Configuration Video Quality Setting for Stream 1~4 Compression Type: The compression level affects the amount of bandwidth and storage required. Lower compression uses more bandwidth and storage but delivers better image quality. Of the three options, H.264 consumes much less network bandwidth compared to MPEG4 and JPEG. Frame Size: Select proper frame size for different viewing devices, bigger frame size requires more bandwidth and storage usage.
Configuration Image Settings This page allows you to tune the white balance, brightness, saturation, contrast, and sharpness settings for the video. Color: Select either a Color or B/W (black and white, monochrome) video display. Power Line Frequency: Select either 50 or 60 Hz depending on your region. Video Orientation: Flip will vertically rotate the video. Mirror will horizontally rotate the video. You may select both options if camera is being installed upside down.
Configuration Sharpness: Adjust the image sharpness level, which ranges from -3 to +3 Overlay Title and Time Stamp on Video: Select this option to place the video title and time on the video streams. (When the frame size is set to 176 x 144 only the time will be stamped on the video streams.) Privacy Mask: In this page, you can block out certain sensitive zones for privacy concerns. To set up a Privacy Mask Window, follow the steps given below: 1. Click New to add a window. 2.
Configuration Day and Night Settings Switch to B/W in Night Mode: Select to automatically enable the camera to switch to B/W night mode. IR Cut Filter: The IR-Cut Removable (ICR) filter mechanically switches between two different sensor filters. It provides the best light conditions both during the day and night. The following options are: • Auto Mode: The camera automatically switches between day and night mode by judging the level of ambient light.
Configuration Network IP Settings IPv4 LAN: Select this option when the camera is deployed on a local area network (LAN) and is intended to be accessed by local computers. The default setting for the Network Type is LAN. Remember to click Save when you complete the Network setting. • Get IP address automatically (DHCP): Select this connection if you have a DHCP server running on your network and would like a dynamic IP address to be assigned to the camera automatically.
Configuration • Enable UPnP Presentation: Select this option to enable UPnP presentation for the camera so that whenever a camera is presented to the LAN, shortcuts of connected cameras will be listed in My Network Places. You can click the shortcut to link to the web browser. Currently, UPnP is supported by Windows XP or later. Note that to utilize this feature, please make sure the UPnP component is installed on your computer.
Configuration IPv6 Enable IPv6: Select this option and click Save to enable IPv6 setting. Please note that this only works if your network environment and hardware equipment support IPv6. The browser should be Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.5, Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or above. When IPv6 is enabled, by default, the camera will listen to router advertisements and be assigned a link-local IPv6 address accordingly. IPv6 Information: Click this button to obtain the IPv6 information.
Configuration Port and Access Name Settings HTTPS By default, the HTTPS port is set to 443. It can also be assigned to another port number between 1025 and 65535. FTP The FTP server allows the user to save recorded video clips. You can utilize D-Link's IP Cam Wizard to upgrade the firmware via FTP server. By default, the FTP port is set to 21. It also can be assigned to another port number between 1025 and 65535. HTTP By default, the HTTP port is set to 80 and the secondary HTTP port is set to 8080.
Configuration Access Name for Stream 1 ~ 5: This camera supports multiple streams simultaneously. The access name is used to differentiate the streaming source. If you want to use an RTSP player to access the camera, you have to set the video mode to H.264 / MPEG-4 and use the following RTSP URL command to request transmission of the streaming data.
Configuration Dynamic DNS This section explains how to configure the dynamic domain name service for the camera. DDNS is a service that allows your camera, especially when assigned with a dynamic IP address, to have a fixed host and domain name. Enable DDNS: Select this option to enable the DDNS setting. Server Name: Select a DDNS server name from the provider drop-down list. With a Dynamic DNS account, the camera automatically updates your IP address. To enable DDNS, enter your host information.
Configuration HTTPS This section explains how to enable authentication and encrypted communication over SSL (Secure Socket Layer). It helps protect streaming data transmission over the Internet on higher security level. Enable HTTPS Select this item to enable HTTPS communication, then select a connection option: "HTTP & HTTPS" or "HTTPS only". Note that you have to create and install a certificate first in the second column before clicking the Save button.
Configuration Create Certificate Request and Install Select this option to create a certificate from a certificate authority. 1. Click Create to open the Create Certificate page, then click Save to generate the certificate. 2. If you see the information bar, click OK and click on the Information bar at the top of the page to allow pop-up. 3. The pop-up window shows an example of a certificate request. 4. Look for a trusted certificate authority that issues digital certificates. Enroll the camera.
Configuration Access List This section explains how to control access permissions by verifying the connecting client PC’s IP address. General Settings Maximum number of concurrent streaming connection(s) limited to: Simultaneous live viewing for 1~10 clients (including stream 1 ~ stream 5). The default value is 10. If you modify the value and click Save, all current connections will be disconnected and automatically attempt to re-link (I.E. Explorer or Quick Time Player).
Configuration • Refresh: Click this button to refresh all current connections. • Add to deny list: You can select entries from the Connection Status list and add them to the Deny List to deny access. Please note that the selected connections will only be disconnected temporarily and will automatically try to re-link again (IE Explore or Quick Time Player). If you want to enable the denied list, please select Enable access list filtering and click Save in the first column.
Configuration Advanced Settings SNMP configuration This section explains how to use the SNMP on the network camera. The Simple Network Management Protocol is an application layer protocol that facilitates the exchange of management information between network devices. It helps network administrators to remotely manage network devices and find, solve network problems with ease. The SNMP consists of the following three key components: 1.
Configuration IEEE 802.1x Enable this function if your network environment uses IEEE 802.1x which is a portbased network access control. The network devices, intermediary switch/access point/hub, and RADIUS server must support and enable 802.1x setting. The 802.1x standard is designed to enhance the security of local area networks, which provides authentication to network devices (clients) attached to a network port (wired or wireless).
Configuration The ability to control the amount of bandwidth each application may use, and thus provide higher reliability and stability on the network. Requirements for QoS: To utilize QoS in a network environment, the following requirements must be met: • All network switches and routers in the network must include support for QoS. • The network video devices used in the network must be QoS-enabled. CoS IEEE802.1p defines a QoS model at OSI Layer 2 (Data Link Layer), which is called CoS, Class of Service.
Configuration QoS/DSCP DSCP-ECN defines QoS at Layer 3 (Network Layer). The Differentiated Services (DiffServ) model is based on packet marking and router queuing disciplines. The marking is done by adding a field to the IP header, called the DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point). This is a 6-bit field that provides 64 different class IDs. It gives an indication of how a given packet is to be forwarded, known as the Per Hop Behavior (PHB).
Configuration Event Management Motion Detection Motion can be detected by measuring change in speed or vector of an object or objects in the field of view. Enable Motion Detection: Select this option to turn on the motion detection feature. Window Name: Create your own name for the monitored area/ window. It will show at the top of the motion window. Sensitivity: Set the measurable difference between two sequential images that would indicate motion.
Configuration Tamper Detection With tamper detection, the camera is capable of detecting incidents such as redirection, blocking or de-focusing, or even spray paint. To enable tamper detection, follow the steps given below: 1. Select Enable camera tampering detection. 2. Enter the tamper trigger duration (10 sec. ~ 10 min.). The tamper alarm will be triggered only when the tampering factor (the difference between current frame and pre-saved background) exceeds the trigger threshold.
Configuration DI and DO Network camera provides a general I/O terminal block with one digital input and digital output for device control. The I/O connector provides the physical interface for digital input (DI+. GND) and digital output (DO-, +12V) that is used for connecting a diversity of external alarm devices to the camera such as IR-Sensors and alarm relays. Once triggered images will be taken and e-mailed.
Configuration Event Settings This section explains how to configure the camera to respond to particular situations (event). A typical application is that when a motion is detected, the camera sends buffered images to an FTP server or e-mail address as notifications. Sever Settings Click Add Server on Event Settings page to open the Server Setting page. On this page, you can specify where the notification messages are sent when a trigger is activated. A total of 5 server settings can be configured.
Configuration FTP: Select to send the media files to an FTP server when a trigger is activated. • Server address: Enter the domain name or IP address of the FTP server. • Server port: By default, the FTP server port is set to 21. It can also be assigned to another port number between 1025 and 65535. • User name: Enter the login name of the FTP account. • Password: Enter the password of the FTP account. • FTP folder name: Enter the folder where the media file will be placed.
Configuration Media Settings Click Add Media to open the Media Settings page. On this page, you can specify the type of media that will be sent when a trigger is activated. A total of 5 media settings can be configured. Name: Enter a name for the media setting. Type: There are three choices of media types available: Snapshot, Video Clip, and System log. Select the item to display the detailed configuration options. You can configure either one or all of them.
Configuration Maximum duration: Specify the maximum recording duration in seconds. Up to 20 seconds can be set. For example, if pre-event recording is set to 5 seconds and the maximum duration is set to 10 seconds, the camera continues to record for another 4 seconds after a trigger is activated. Maximum file size: Specify the maximum file size allowed. File name prefix: Enter the text that will be appended to the front of the file name. Click Save to enable the settings, then click Close to exit the page.
Configuration Video motion detection: This option makes use of the built-in motion detection mechanism as a trigger source. To enable this function, you need to configure a Motion Detection Window first. For more information, please refer to Motion Detection for details. Periodically: This option allows the camera to trigger periodically for every other defined minute. Up to 999 minutes are allowed.
Configuration To set an event with recorded video or snapshots, it is necessary to configure the server and media setting so that the camera will know what action to take (i.e. the server to send the media files to) when a trigger is activated.
Configuration Recording Recording Settings Click Add to open the recording setting page. In this page, you can define the recording source, recording schedule, and recording capacity. A total of 2 recording setting can be configured. Recording name: Enter a name for the recording setting Enable this recording: Select this option to enable video recording Priority: Select the relative importance of this recording setting (High, Normal, and Low). Source: Select the recording source (stream 1 ~ 4).
Configuration Enable cyclic recording: If you select this item, when the maximum capacity is reached, the oldest file will be overwritten by the latest one. The reserved amount is reserved for cyclic recording to prevent malfunction. This value must be larger than 15 Mbytes. If you want to enable recording notification, please click Application to set up. Please refer to Trigger > Recording notify for detailed information. When completed, select Enable this recording.
Configuration PTZ Control Digital PTZ You can set a total of 20 preset positions and select preset positions for the camera to patrol. Please follow the steps below to preset a position: 1. Adjust the shooting area to the desired position using the buttons on the right side of the window. 2. Enter a name for the preset position, which allows for up to forty characters. Click Add to enable the Setting. The preset positions will be displayed under the Preset Location list on the left-hand side. 3.
Configuration Mechanical PTZ To utilize this feature, please connect the camera to a PTZ driver or scanner via RS485 interface first. Then you can configure the PTZ driver and RS485 port with the following setting. Enable Mechanical PTZ Operation: Select this option to disable this function. Camera ID: The Camera ID is necessary to control multiple cameras. If you click Save to enable this function, the camera control panel will be displayed on the main page.
Configuration Parity Bit: Parity is a form of error checking used in serial communication. For even and odd parities, the serial port sets the parity bit (the last bit after the data bits) to a value to ensure that the transmission has an even or odd number of logic high bits. For example, if the data is 011, for even parity, the parity bit is 0 to keep the number of logic-high bits even. If the parity is odd, the parity bit is 1, resulting in 3 logic-high bits.
Configuration User Customization Live Video Page Configuration Preview: It shows the new layout of Logo/Background/Title based on user setting. Logo Graphic: You can change the logo at the top of your Live Video page. Follow the steps below to upload a new logo: 1. Click Custom and the Browse field will appear. 2. Select a logo from your files. 3. Click Upload to replace the existing logo with a new one. 4. Enter a website link if necessary. 5. Click Save to enable the setting.
Configuration HTML Code Examples This page can generate example HTML code for you, thus you can paste the code into your own web page and get the embedded live video feed. Stream: Select from stream 1 to 4, it will base on the profile of selected stream to generate the code accordingly. Up to 10 clients are supported for live view. Live Stream: • H.264/MPEG4/MJPEG using ActiveX for IE - If target remote user client use Internet Explorer(IE), then the example code can support H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG stream.
Configuration System User Settings This section explains how to enable password protection and create multiple accounts. Admin Password Setup: The administrator account name is “admin”, which is permanent and cannot be deleted. The default of password is empty. Add user account: Add a new user account. Username: Enter a username for the new account. Password: Enter a password for the new account. Privilege: Select the access rights for the new user. Manage user: Manage the accounts for existing users.
Configuration Device Settings Turn off the LED indicator: Select this option to turn off the LED next to the lens. This will prevent anyone from observing the operation of the network camera. Camera Name: Create a unique name for your camera and you can access the camera using this name in your web-browser. For example: http://DCS-7110.
Configuration Time and Date Automatically or manually configure, update, and maintain the internal system clock for your camera. Current Server Time: Displays camera's current time. Time Zone: Select your time zone from the drop-down menu. Enable Daylight Saving: Select this to enable the daylight saving time (DST). During DST, the system clock moves one hour ahead. (Note: To utilize this feature, be sure to first set the time zone of your network camera.
Configuration Maintenance This chapter explains how to restore the camera to factory default, upgrade firmware version, etc. Reboot: This feature allows you to reboot the camera, which takes about one minute to complete. When completed, the live video page will be displayed in your browser. The following message will be displayed during the reboot process. If the connection fails after rebooting, manually enter the IP address of the camera in the address field to resume the connection.
Configuration Upload custom language file: Click Browse… and specify your own custom language file to upload. Export setting backup file: Click to export all parameters for the device and user-defined scripts. Upload setting backup file: Click Browse… to upload a setting backup file. Please note that the model and firmware version of the device should be the same as the setting backup file.
Configuration Parameter List The Parameters List page lists the camera's parameter settings in alphabetical order. Refer to the list of variables to troubleshoot and debug code.
Configuration Logs This section explains how to configure the camera to send the system log to the remote server as backup. Remote Log: You can configure the camera to send the system log file to a remote server as a log backup. Before utilizing this feature, it is suggested that the a log recording tool be first installed on the remote server to receive system log messages from the camera. Be sure to note the IP address of the remote server. Follow the steps below to set up the remote log: 1.
