Global Port Settings
The Global Port settings are used to configure the port connected to your Cable/DSL
modem. These should mirror the settings provided by your ISP.
If your ISP provides a static IP address for your Internet connection, then select the “Set
static global port configuration” radio button. You will need to fill in each field with
appropriate information as provided by your ISP.
If your ISP provides a dynamic address, then select the “Obtain global port configuration
automatically” radio button. Please note that some ISPs require that a computer name be set
in Windows, if this is the case with your ISP then click the management tab and enter the
Computer name in the “Device/Computer name” field (see below, “Management”).

Modifying Local Port Settings
Select the “Local Port” Tab. The IP address and Subnet Mask fields apply to the local port
of the DI-701. Please note that three first numbers of this address much match the first three
numbers of your local clients’ IP addresses. Under normal use it is recommended you use
the factory default settings which are 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0 respectively.
The “Distribute IP Addresses to Local Computers” radio button should be checked. This
will allow the DI-701 to pass out IP addresses to your local clients. Again it is
