Section 5 - Troubleshooting
•MakesurethattheDWA-525WirelessAdapterisproperlyseatedinthecomputersPCIslot.
•IfWindowsdoesnotdetectthehardwareuponinsertionoftheadapter,makesuretocompletelyremove
driversthatwerepreviouslyloaded.Toremovethedrivers,dothefollowing:
A. Under Tools > select Folder Options… > select View > under Hidden les and folders > select Show
hidden les and folders.
B. UncheckHide extension for known le types > click on Apply.
C. Searchforpreviouslyloadeddriverles.RemovetheselesfromtheINFandSYSTEM(DRIVERS)foldersin
the Windows directory.
Note: Windows
®
XP and 2000 will rename .inf les that have not received WHQL certication into oem.inf les
(e.g., oem1.inf).
5. The computer does not recognize the DWA-525 Wireless Adapter.
• CheckthattheLEDindicatorsforthebroadbandmodemareindicatingnormalactivity.Ifnot,theremaybe
a problem with the broadband connection.
• CheckthattheLEDindicatorsonthewirelessrouterarefunctioningproperly.Ifnot,checkthattheACpower
and Ethernet cables are rmly connected.
• CheckthattheIPAddress,subnetmask,gateway,andDNSsettingsarecorrectlyenteredforthenetwork.
6. The computer with the DWA-525 installed is unable to connect to the wireless network and/or the Internet.
