Electrical Requirements
WARNING
To prevent an electric shock hazard, the power supply must meet the
specifications below. The owner shall ensure that the electrical service
meets electrical requirements and that the outlet is properly installed
by a licensed electrician.
The cooktop comes with a 42” power cord with 3-prong,
grounding plug (chassis bottom, right-rear corner).
The cooktop must be connected to a dedicated, grounded
3-prong outlet installed by a licensed electrician.
The electrical installation, including minimum supply-wire size
and grounding, must comply with the National Electric Code
ANSI/NFPA 70* and local codes and ordinances. A copy of this
standard may be obtained from:
National Fire Protection Association
1 Batterymarch Park
Quincy, Massachusetts 02269-9101
Be certain that the cooktop is correct for the provided gas
service (natural or LP gas).
If operating the cooktop at an altitude above 4000 ft. (1210 m),
ensure it is equipped for high-altitude use.
The correct voltage, frequency and amperage must be supplied
to the electrical outlet according to the product data label
located on the bottom of the chassis (see graphic at left). See
the Gas and Electrical Requirements table on this page for
reference.
Be certain to locate the electrical outlet so power may be easily
disconnected if the unit needs service.
Check local building codes for the proper installation method.
If no such codes exist, install the cooktop per the National Fuel
Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.
An external manual shut-off valve must be installed between the
gas inlet and cooktop so gas to the cooktop can be shut on/off.
Use only the factory regulator, which must be installed in the gas
line that runs from the cooktop gas inlet to the gas shut-off valve.
Because the regulator inlet accommodates a ” gas line, and
the cooktop inlet is a ” male NPT fitting, a ”-to-” reducer
comes with the cooktop.
The cooktop gas connection is on the chassis bottom, back right
corner. (See the graphic at left.)
