Apply the enclosed adhesive strips onto
the backs of the stencils to help keep
them in place during coating application.
Use sparingly (6 - 10 strips per stencil) -
or as many as you feel you need.
Position stencil pieces as desired over
the project area which has been pre-
primed with Daich Textured Primer.
For cleanest results and to avoid pushing material beneath the stencil, roll the
stone base coat or the fi rst coat of RollerRock (or other coating) holding the roller
handle at a vertical 90 degree angle. This will cleanly apply product mainly onto the
exposed primed surface and minimize the requirement for line touch-ups afterward.
For Spreadstone accent coats, which are applied more sparingly with a different
roller, this method is not required. NOTE: This method of application also means
that you will be standing on the stencils during application, which further
helps keep them in place while rolling.
Remove the stencil as soon
as the coating is dry and will
support your weight. Peel it
up with care to avoid breakage.
With the dry coating on
the stencil surface, it will
become even more durable
and water-repellent, allowing
it to be re-used.
While some minor bleed will add rustic natural character to the lines and can be left alone.
Some touch-ups will be required where the coating has bled beneath the stencil. Simply
use a small paint brush or artist brush to dab some of the original primer color onto the lines
where necessary to clean them up. After any touch-ups have been performed – and after the
overall coating project has cured for 24 hours – apply high-performance sealer over the entire
coated surface to protect it from seasonal weather, hot tires, foot traffi c, snow shoveling, water,
grease, dirt and UV rays. Seal with Daich Hi-Build Ultra of DAICH DaiHard Garage and
Driveway Concrete Sealer (or DaiHard Epoxy Clear Coat for interior surfaces) to keep your
elegant new surface looking great.
Stencil pieces should be laid into
place to ensure they fi t together for a
continuous patterned effect.
Overlap the tips of adjoining stencils
slightly during placement for a continual
clean pattern and less leakage.
With stencils in place, step on them to lock
them down fi rmly with the adhesive.
