Keys to successful installation 1. Read through the installation guide to understand all steps and gather tools as needed. 2. Verify that all of the components that you purchased are present. If any pieces are missing from the kit, contact Dakota Guest Services at dpguestservice@dakotapanel.com for replacements. 3. It's essential that you use the fasteners and screws provided in your kit to ensure proper assembly and installation.
1 Start by marking the wood studs in the location your kit will be installed. Using the stud finder, pencil and tape measure, find and mark the wall studs 84" from the floor. Mark any additional holes needed to install the hang rail included in the kit. Your closet needs to be centered on the 38" hang rail. 84" Tip: If this kit is part of a larger design, you may wish to purchase a 80" Hang Rail available at MENARDSĀ®.
3 The wall mount bracket pack contains a left and right bracket. Install one bracket onto each upright in the holes shown. The brackets will be concealed on the inside of the finished kit. Tip: Included with the wall mount bracket pack are two cover caps to conceal the bracket hardware. Set these cover caps aside until the kit assembly is complete. 4 i36x40 Version 19.9 Using a screwdriver, turn the screw at the back of the wall mount bracket to fully extend the hook arm.
5 Using a screwdriver, install the cam dowels from the cam lock pack into both of the uprights. Install cam dowels in the top holes and install cam dowels in the 5th hole from the bottom. The lower holes will be used to install the wardrobe rod later. 6 Lift and hang both uprights onto the hang rail. The uprights must hook into the lower rail of the hang rail as shown in image A.
Align the cam locks from the cam lock pack over the pre-drilled holes in the shelves, making sure the open ends match up. Firmly press the cam locks into the holes. Important: Cam Locks cannot be removed once installed, ensure proper orientation. Refer to illustrations below. 8 i36x40 Version 19.9 Lower the shelves with installed cam locks onto the installed cam dowels on the uprights. Once seated, secure the shelves with a screwdriver by turning the cam lock a half turn in the clockwise direction.
9 Install the wardrobe rod supports by pushing into the pre drilled holes in the uprights. Insert the wardrobe rod into the wardrobe rod supports. Tip: Wardrobe rod supports are designed to be adjustable and can be moved to any height desired. 10 Using a screwdriver, turn the screws at the back of the wall mount brackets until the unit is tight and flush with the wall. (Image A) Place a level on top of the assembled closet and determine if any adjustment is necessary.
