UMX-2 Underwater Material & Coating Thickness Gauge

1) Remove the bottom end cap of the UMX-2, in order to access the LEMO

data jack. Remove the rubber plug from the data jack.

2) Plug the LEMO connector into the data jack. Note: align the red pin on the

connector with the data jack.

3) Plug either the RS232 into a serial port, or USB connector into a USB port

on the PC.

Note: If the USB cable is used, the com port ‘must’ be set to ports 1-4.

Otherwise, if a standard serial port is used, skip to step #9.

4) We’ll assume the USB cable is used for this example. Connect the USB

cable to the UMX-2 and PC.
