Slatwall Panel Installation Instructions
About Slatwall: Slatwall panels can be installed over existing walls, drywall or wall paneling, as well as,
directly to studs (wood or metal) in a new construction area.
Tools needed:
Drill or Screw Gun
Circular Saw or Table Saw
Jigsaw
Level (2' minimum) and/or Straight Edge
Tape Measure
Ladder
Chalk Line, Pencil or Marker
Screws
Panel Adhesive (optional)
Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses and gloves)
Installation steps:
Getting Started: Slatwall panels can be cut easily. Use a table saw with a high TPI (teeth per inch) and cut
the panel face UP or use a circular saw and cut the panel face DOWN. Use a straight edge or level as a
guide to help ensure accurate cuts. For irregular cuts, use a jigsaw with a medium wood cutting blade with
approximately 10 TPI. Cut the panel face DOWN.
1. With preferred marking device, strike a level line the height of a panel across the length of the installation
area. All panel edges must be aligned exactly with this line for proper installation. Verify everything is level
before securing the panels.
2. If installing with metal inserts, the inserts will need to be installed before installation of the panel.
Pre-drill holes before installation. Panel adhesive can be used on the back of the slatwall panel for
additional holding strength.
3. Install a minimum of 2" drywall screw every 3rd slot (9" on center) vertically on the stud. Each 4'x8' panel
should have 30 screws for installation (9" on center, with 24" on center studs). Screws need to be placed
within the final 2" on either side of the 8' panel. If the panel does not have a stud within 2" of the end of
the panel, an additional nailer will need to be added.
*NOTE: When stacking panels, be sure to start by attaching the bottom panel first.
**It is important to contact or review your town or regional building codes in your area so that you obtain the proper permits. Panels
are around 95.0 lbs per panel. Proper panel installation is critical for personal safety. Panels installed without inserts can hold a
maximum of weight 25.0 lbs per sq. ft. Panels installed with inserts can hold a maximum weight of 50.0 lbs per sq. ft.
