Synchronized Chuff pickup installation
with original equipment Hall Effect sensor
Some steam locomotives are equipped with a round magnet mounted on an axle with a sensor to read
the rotation of the magnet. The drawings below are for use with the original equipped Lionel® hall effect
sensor. While modifications to the main board are shown, they do void warranty.

For the Hall Effect sensor to operate best, short R22.This must be
done with a small pencil soldering iron and great care as to not
damage the board. You can try it's operation first without doing
this but it may be necessary to do so.
