IMPORTANT: When using this appliance to store blood or vaccines ensure that you follow CDC or Health Canada storage and procedural guidelines. Important Safety Information READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS LOCATION This appliance must be grounded. Grounding reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an escape wire for the electrical current. • Two people should be used when moving the appliance. This appliance has a cord that has a grounding wire with a 3-prong plug. The power cord must be plugged into an outlet that is properly grounded.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FIRST TIME SET UP The first time the appliance is plugged in, the date and time must be set. The programming menu includes the following options: • • • • • YY - used to set the year NN - used to set the month dd - used to set the day HH - used to set the hour nn - used to set the minute To set the date and time, follow the steps below. 1. Year Setting: Press and hold the Set button and the down arrow button at the same time for 5 seconds to enter the programming menu.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS TEMPERATURE SELECTION DATA STORAGE The display screen will show the current internal temperature of the appliance. The temperature of the appliance can be set between 2°C - 8°C (36°F - 46°F). Use the up and down buttons to choose the desired temperature. Press the Set button to confirm the selection. The appliance will record the time and temperature every 10 minutes and will store this information for up to 3 years.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CHANGING THE BATTERY 1 The battery should be replaced every three years. Ensure that the appliance is unplugged before replacing the battery. The change the battery in the appliance, follow the steps below. 1. Remove the worktop from the appliance. 2 2. Remove the cover from the electrical control box. 3. Remove the battery from the control board. Replace the battery with a circular CR3023 battery. Replace the cover of the electrical control box and the worktop.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS DOOR REVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS 1 If the appliance is placed on its back or side for any length of time during this process, it must be allowed to remain upright for 6 hours before plugging it in to avoid damage to the internal components. To change the direction of the door swing, follow the instructions below. 1. Remove the adjustable foot from the lower left side of the cabinet. Remove the lower hinge from the lower right side of the cabinet.
CARE & MAINTENANCE CLEANING VACATION Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning. • Short vacations: Leave the appliance operating during vacations of less than three weeks. • Clean the inside and the outside of the appliance with a soft cloth and a solution of a tablespoon of baking soda to one quart of water or some mild detergent. • Wash shelves in a mild detergent solution, then dry and wipe with a soft cloth. • It is important to keep the area clean where the door seals against the cabinet.
