SKIN PROTECTION: Wear nitrile or neoprene gloves. Natural rubber, butyl rubber and polyvinyl chloride gloves are not suitable protection against phthalates such as diisodecyl phthalate and diisononyl phthalate; neoprene is recommended. EYE PROTECTION: Goggles or safety glasses with side shields.

A mixture of diisodecyl phthalate and diisononyl phthalate has been tested in a two-generation toxicity study in laboratory animals. No effects on reproductive parameters were seen. However, a small but statistically significant increase in early offspring mortality was seen at high oral doses.
