6703/6704 Devices
This chapter contains overview information on the PCI-6703, PCI-6704,
PXI-6703, and PXI-6704 analog output devices.
PCI/PXI-6703/6704 Analog Output Devices
The 6703 and 6704 devices are precise DC setpoint analog output devices.
The 6704 devices contain 16 voltage outputs plus 16 separate current
outputs for a total of 32 analog output channels with 16-bit DAC resolution.
Each channel is independently programmable. The voltage channels are
numbered 0 through 15, and the current channels are 16 though 31. The
analog output range is ±10.1 V for the voltage channels and 0.1 to 20.2 mA
for the current channels.
The 6703 devices contain 16 voltage output channels with 16-bit
resolution. The channels are numbered 0 through 15. The analog output
range is ±10.1 V.
The 6703/6704 devices have one 16-bit DAC that is time-division
multiplexed to create the output channels. The 6703/6704 have 16 voltage
output channels. The 6704 also has 16 current output channels. The devices
support two update modes: update when written to, and later internal
update mode.
The devices can store the channel data in nonvolatile RAM which provides
power-on values for all the analog output channels. All analog channels are
guaranteed to be at their power-on values 5 ms after de-assertion of system
reset.
PCI/PXI-6703/6704 Digital I/O
The 6703/6704 devices contain eight lines of digital I/O. These lines are
contained in one 8-bit port. You can configure each line individually for
input or output. Each line you configure as an output line has read-back
capability. These digital I/O ports operate in nonlatched mode only.
