Dash Info
The Dash Info contains setup parameters, specific to the dash and data logger. Locate the
Custom Programming Options area. This is found on the left side of the page.
To change any of the following parameters, place the mouse cursor on the desired text line and
left click. This will activate the input box for the particular setting, to the right of the selected
text line. Changes are entered in the input box, and then sent to the dash via the SEND
Configuration button as found in the lower right corner of the open window.
In some instances, the following settings are also accessed by the external programming
buttons.
Product Version
Same as firmware version.
Record Enable Channel
The sensor channel that starts the process of saving data to the memory card. Any active
channel may be used, to start recording. When powered up, the IQ3 does not save data to the
memory card until the channel value is exceeded as shown below.
Start recording when channel exceeds value
This defines the value that must be exceeded before the IQ3 will start saving data to the
memory card.
Max Number of Seconds to Record
This is the total time (in seconds) that a single data file will record, before the data logger saves
the file and automatically starts a new recording. Do not change.
Start Finish Line Distance
This defines the distance that an “imaginary” start finish line (latitude and longitude) point is
projected left, right and perpendicular to vehicle travel, when the start finish is set utilizing the
external programming buttons. This can be visualized much the same as the distance a
trackside beacon transmitter will project across the racing surface. For land based vehicles, this
is typically not a problem, as the vehicle will consistently maintain a narrow driving line location
on the track.
For boating competitors, this setting is important, as boats can often vary in driving line
locations by large distances. If the Start Finish Line Distance setting is too small, the boat will
“miss” the start finish marker and thus not receive a lap time or numbers.
Minimum is 30 feet / 10 meters, while maximum is 960 feet / 320 meters.
