Contents of the RS-422 This kit contains the following items: RS-422 Chip Jumper Tools Required The RS-422 Option only requires a #2 Philips screwdriver for installation. Preparing the Printer  Turn the Printer off and unplug the power cord from the printer.  Remove any data cables attached to the printer.  Touch a metal part of your printer’s frame to ground yourself and discharge any static electricity.  Remove the two Screws securing the Main Logic Board to the printer.

Installing the RS-422 Chip  Orient the RS-422 Chip as shown and insert the chip into the Socket on the Main Logic Board. Be sure the pins on the RS-422 Chip are not bent and are inserted into the holes in the Socket.  Place the Jumper over Pins E12 and E13.  Slide the Main Logic Board into the printer. Push the board in until it is fully seated. Reinstall the two previously removed screws.
