Requirements • Wavelink Avalanche Mobility Center (tested Version 5.0.2.19) • Wavelink Enabler for WIFI Handheld Device (tested Versions 4.06, 5.0-27 ) • An available Bluetooth Virtual COM port on the WIFI handheld device. • .NET Compact Framework 3.5 installed on handheld device • OS: Windows Mobile 5, 6,6.5/ CE 5,6 • Avalanche MC Console installed • Tested devices: o Motorola MC65 (WM 6.5) o Honeywell Dolphin 9900 (WM 6.1) o Motorola MC3100 (CE 6.
Installation 1. Launch the WaveLink Avalanche MC Console and click on Add Device Software to create a new Software Profile. 2. Follow the instructions in the wizard. Make sure you enable and apply the Software Profile to your distributed Server.
3. On the Select a software Package to Add screen, browse to the location of the DOWBT.AVA package file and select it. Proceed through the wizard to create the software profile with the package inside. 4. Highlight your distributed server and click on the dServer Location Properties tab. The software profile to be deployed will be shown on the left side of the screen.
. Click on the Universal Deployment button to deploy the highlighted package to the server. 6. Next, install the Avalanche Enabler onto the device. Double-click the Wavelink Enabler for Motorola MC65_WM_5_0_27.exe and follow the instructions to install the Avalanche Remote Installer for the Enabler on your computer. Note: This may vary depending on you handheld. Please visit the Wavelink website to download the correct Enabler for your handheld. 7.
8. Click on Enabler Settings and configure the Server Address, SSID, and Network Settings for the Enabler. Click OK when finished. 9. Click on Install & Config button and follow the instructions on the handheld screen to install the Enabler. 10. On the handheld, start the Avalanche Enabler, it will begin to retrieve the package from server and then install and launch the DOWBT.exe application automatically. The user can press Abort/Restart to cancel/restart this process.
D-O Wavelink Bluetooth Manager (DOWBT.exe) 1. Discover all Bluetooth devices in range and filter out any devices that are not D-O printers. 2. For each printer, initiate pairing between the printer and the handheld and bind a virtual COM port to the printer.
3. Query the properties from the printer, close/unbind the COM port and unpair the device. 4. Launch the enabler in the background to send the printer properties to the Avalanche server for display. 5. Proceed to the next printer and repeat until all printers have been reported.
6. If the Avalanche Enabler Window appears on the screen, press “X” to minimize the Avalanche Enabler. 7. If the message “No ports available” is repeatedly reported on the screen for multiple printers, you must reboot the handheld to resolve the issue. 8.
9. Printers reported should now be displayed on the Wavelink Avalanche MC Console.
