The new Integrated Pest Management Module for Grapes provides the final step in linking your weather
data to actual pest risk, giving you a powerful new tool in the battle against crop pest damage.
This add-on module works with WeatherLink for Windows and Vantage Pro2 to gather real-time
temperature, humidity, rain and leaf wetness data and generate stepped risk levels to warn you when
conditions are favorable for pest development. The software comes loaded with pest models for all
known grape pests, including diseases, insects and mites. (You may delete pests not present in your
area.) You will see at a glance when conditions are favorable for insect pests reaching a damaging
stage of growth, or for disease development to occur. A color-coded spreadsheet puts the highest risk
potential pests at the top of the list and highlights them in red. Because you configure the software to
reflect pests present in your area and use real-time data from your own vineyard weather sensors, the
software’s updated pest development algorithms will provide you with the most accurate, vineyard-
specific risk assessment available.

Optional software module adds specialized reports for farmers, growers, and
turf managers, with user-defined growing season and 24-hour period. You’ll
get evapotranspiration, chilling requirement, leaf wetness hours, and soil
temperature hours. Plus growing degree-days and temperature-
humidity hours and crop water management (with irrigation
values and user-entered K-factor profiles).
For use with all WeatherLink models except Mac versions. Some
reports require the use of optional sensors. Evapotranspiration
reports require the use of solar radiation sensor.

Be alerted whenever conditions approach critical—24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. Choose e-mail for detailed information on alarm conditions plus
regularly scheduled updates on current weather conditions. Use the alert
to send a text to your cell phone. Or choose the phone alert,
with a special alarm tone telling you to check your weather
station console or WeatherLink for details.
For use with all WeatherLink models except Mac versions.
Because systems vary, the phone alert may not work outside
the USA.

Grape Black Rot
Black rot, caused by the fungus Guignardia
bidwellii, is an important fungal disease that
originated in eastern North America, but which
now also occurs in portions of Europe, South
America, and Asia. The disease is the most
destructive in warm, humid climates.
The fungus attacks all green parts of the
vine: the leaves, shoots, leaf and fruit stems,
but the most damaging effect is to the fruit.
Symptoms on leaves rst appear as reddish
brown spots. As the spots enlarge, they
develop black margins and a tan brown center.
By the time the lesions reach 1/8–1/4 inch in
diameter, minute black dots appear. Infected
berries rst appear light or chocolate brown,
but quickly turn darker brown, with masses
of black pycnidia that cause complete drying
and shriveling.
