Wave User Manual & FAQ
What does capacity amount mean?
Capacity refers to the total amount of charge that a power bank device can store.
What does mAh mean?
This stands for milliampere-hour, and is a unit of measurement for determining the amount of charge a
device can hold. For a reference, normal smart phone batteries have a capacity of about 2-3 thousand
mAh, while tablets have around 4-5 thousand mAh.
How long does it take to fully charge a power bank device?
This varies based on power bank capacity, but a power bank will take roughly 1 hour to charge 1,000
mAh of its capacity.
How long does it take for a power bank to fully charge my mobile devices?
This depends on which USB port is used. Most of our power banks have a 1A USB slot, and a 2A USB
slot. Assuming a battery with a 3k mAh battery capacity, it will be fully charged in 1.5 hours using the
2A USB slot, and about 3 hours using the 1A USB slot.
Once fully charged, how many times can a power bank fully charge a mobile device?
This varies based on power bank capacity. As an example, if a fully charged power bank 10k model was
used to charge a phone with a 3k mAh battery capacity, it could fully charge the phone about 3 times.
How long does a power bank retain its charge?
Once charged, a power bank will retain its charge for roughly 6 months or more and can be recharged
up to 500 times.
What is the difference between the Power banks, and panel chargers?
Power banks, when charging, have an internal battery that is used to store this charge, which will be
available for later use. Panel chargers require direct sunlight and store very little to no charge. They
directly charge the phone on when there is sunlight available, but require no previous “charging up”
time in order to use them.
Do power banks require direct sunlight?
Power banks do not require direct sunlight, but they do require some level of ambient sunlight.
