USE AND CARE SPECIFICATIONS
The sooner Ipe Seal
®
is applied to lumber ends or log ends after end cutting, the more effective it will be in preventing
end checking and degrade. Similar in viscosity to latex paint, Ipe Seal
®
is easily brushed or sprayed on.

Viscous, white liquid that dries to waxy clear.

PROPERTIES & STORAGE
Ipe Seal
®
is a stable, non-toxic (w/o methanol), non-hazardous,
wax and water emulsion.
Ipe Seal
®
should be stored much like latex paint, in a controlled area
above 50°F/10°C.
APPLICATION
Always clean dirty wood end grain before applying Ipe Seal
®
.
Apply a liberal even coating to the end grain of the wood. Brush from
the bottom upwards on deck boards and apply liberally on log ends.
Thorough, complete coverage of the end grain will maximize the
benefits for your lumber.
Logs over 24” (60 cm) should be coated very heavily or twice within a
15 minute period to preserve value.
Ipe Seal
®
should be applied above 40°F/4.44°C. For best results, apply
between 50°F/10°C and 95°F/35°C.
CLEAN UP
Use hot, soapy water to clean equipment. Solvent cleaners are not
recommended.
