Care and Maintenance of Oil Finished Outdoor Furniture
Wood Furniture Characteristics
Always make certain to cover your outdoor wood furniture with waterproof covers when are
not using it. Although this may seem like a lot of work this only takes few minutes and will
protect your furniture from the elements. The sun is also another factor that can damage your
furniture and covering it protect as well.
We recommend that furniture is stored indoors during the winter months.
All timber surfaces will change colour and mellow over time. New furniture will initially vary in
shade from items that have been previously purchased.
Care and re-oil guidance.
Please re-oil the wood at regular intervals to retain a good level of protection.
Firstly, clean the furniture with a soft brush and a mild soapy solution. Then rinse it with water
and let dry thoroughly .Caution : do not use pressure cleaning machines or you will damage
the structure of wood. Ingrained dirt can be removed by using fine granulated sand paper.
Afterwards please polish the surface with a soft cotton cloth.
Secondly, treat the wood with a suitable oil from a D.I.Y shop. Make sure the oil’s color
pigmentation matches the colour of the wood.
For a more intensive treatment, you will need to oil the wood two to three times. When doing
so, always oil wet on wet, i,e , allow the oil to soak in but do not let the wood dry before you
apply the next coat. Let the furniture dry for at least 48 hours before using it again.

Due to the expansion and contraction of the wood caused by weather, we recommend
retightening all of the hardware two weeks after assembly .Periodic checking of all connections
and hardware is also advised.
With care and attention your product will give you many of enjoyment!
