SECTION 4. FIRST-AID MEASURES
Eye Contact:
Rinse with water to remove. Remove contact lenses, if used. Flush immediately with plenty of water
for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if needed.
Skin Contact:
No first aid should be needed. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Inhalation:
Remove person to fresh air. Increase ventilation.
Inhalation of high concentrations of this material, as could occur in enclosed spaces or during
deliberate abuse, may be associated with cardiac arrhythmias.
Ingestion (Oral):
Do not induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth with water. Contact Poison Control Center. If possible do not
leave individual unattended.
Comments:
Always consult a physician. Treat according to person's condition and specifics of exposure.
SECTION 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Specific hazards arising from
chemical:
Do not use near fire, flame, or sparks. Do not store at temperatures above 120 °F. The container
contains flammable ingredients. If container is broken, flammable liquid will be released. Never
use welding or cutting torch on or near cans (even empty) because product (even just residue)
can ignite explosively. During fire, irritating or toxic decomposition products may be generated.
Extinguishing Media:
Water Mist/Fog, Carbon Dioxide, Alcohol Resistant Foam, and Dry Chemical.
Fire Fighting Procedures:
Self-containing breathing apparatus and protective clothing should be worn in fighting large fires
involving chemicals. Shut off all ignition sources. Move containers from fire area if you can do it
without risk. Apply cooling water to sides of containers that are exposed to flames until well after
fire is out. Use flooding amounts of water as fog. Cool product containers with flooding amounts
of water from as far a distance as possible. Avoid breathing vapors; keep upwind. As with any
containerized chemicals, in the event of overheating or direct flame contact, evacuate the area
to minimize hazard of potential explosion.
Unusual Fire Hazards:
Not expected.
Hazardous Decomposition
Products:
Carbon oxides and traces of incompletely burned carbon compounds may be present.
SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions:
Avoid contact with eyes.
Protective Equipment:
Refer to Section 8.
Emergency Procedure:
Avoid uncontrolled releases of this material. Where spills are possible, a comprehensive spill
response plan should be developed and implemented.
Methods for Containment &
Cleanup:
Spills should be contained, solidified and placed in suitable containers for disposal in a licensed
facility. Non-sparking tools should be used. Soak with inert absorbent material.
SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for Safe
Handling:
Flammable. Do not use near fire, flame, or sparks. Do not store at temperatures above 120 °F. Keep
out of reach of children. Keep container closed. Avoid contact with eyes. Provide sufficient
ventilation and avoid prolonged skin contact. Do not place cans in trash compactor.
Conditions for Safe
Storage:
Keep container closed and away from heat and flame sources. Since emptied containers retain
product residues, all hazard precautions given in this MSDS must be observed.
