Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The light will not come on. □ The motion sensor control switch
is set to the OFF position.
□ Slide the control switch to the AUTO
position.
□ The rechargeable battery is dead. □ Slide the control switch to the OFF
position and allow the battery to
charge with 3 to 7 days of full sun-
shine before testing.
□ The solar panel is positioned
wrong.
□ Position and angle the solar panel so
that it gets plenty of direct sunlight
for most of the day, if not the entire
day.
□ Daylight turn-off (photocell) is in
effect.
□ Recheck after dark.
□ The motion sensor is aimed in the
wrong direction.
□ Re-aim the motion sensor to cover
the desired area.
□ The surrounding air temperature
is greater than 122° F (50° C) or
less than -4° F (-20° C).
□ The light will operate normally inside
the specied temperature range.
The light comes on during
the day.
□ The light xture may be installed
in a relatively dark location.
□ Relocate the light xture to an area
that receives more light.
□ The motion sensor control switch
is set to the TEST position.
□ Slide the control switch to the OFF or
AUTO position.
The light comes on for no
apparent reason.
The motion sensor may be sensing
small animals or automobile trafc.
Decrease the “SENS” setting or reposition
the motion sensor.
The lights ash on and off. The motion sensor may be sensing
shadows.
Relocate the light xture to an area away
from shadows.
