Specifications Detection Range Up to 70 ft. (21m) - Varies with surrounding temperature Sensing angle Up to 270° Time delay 1, 5 or 10 minutes HI-LO timer OFF, Dusk-to-Dawn, Seasonally adjusted timer mode Operating modes Auto, Manual, Eco, Smart Lamp Type Wattage Lamp Load 300W (Max) Pre-Installation PLANNING INSTALLATION Before installing the motion sensor, ensure that all parts are present (see Hardware Included on page 4).
Pre-Installation (continued) Package Contents B A Part Description Quantity A Motion sensor 1 B Lock nut 1 MOUNTING LOCATIONS □ □ Determine the mounting location - a wall or under an eave. Position the sensor head (A) in the general direction of the desired sensor coverage. Wall Mount Eave Mount □ □ □ Do not tilt the sensor head upward. Please tilt the sensor head forward for longer detection range. Tilt the sensor head downward to reduce the detection range.
Installation 1 Installing and Wiring the Motion Sensor NOTE: Do NOT mix different types of bulbs operated by this motion sensor; for example, LED, CFL or halogen. Further, do NOT mix dimmable and non-dimmable bulbs. Mixing bulbs may cause problems with the operation of the product. WARNING: Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify power is off at the light fixture. CAUTION: Keep the sensor at least 1 in. (25mm) away from the bulbs.
Installation (continued) 2 Caulking Around the Light Fixture □ □ Replace the gasket for your light fixture, if the existing one is worn out or damaged. Caulk around the canopy (B) and the mounting surface with silicone sealant (not included). B Operation 1 Lamp Adjustment □ □ Follow the instructions that came with your light fixture for mounting and adjusting the light fixture. Keep regular lamps at least 1 in. (25mm) from the sensor. Halogen lamps should be kept at least 2 in. (51mm) from the sensor.
Operation (continued) 3 Sensor Arm Adjustment □ If you are using bulbs or fixtures that interfere with the coverage of your 270° motion sensor coverage, you can extend the arm of the sensor lower, so it will be below most bulbs and fixtures. □ If you are using another type of bulb or fixture that does not require the extended arm, you can retract the arm for a more compact look. 4 Testing and Adjusting the Motion Sensor □ Turn on power and allow the motion sensor to warm up for about 90 seconds.
Operation (continued) 5 Adjusting the HI/LO Light Level HI level security lighting and LO level accent lighting. HI-LO feature is off. Works with motion sensor after dark at 100% brightness. Dusk-to-dawn timer: Lights will come on automatically at dusk at approximately 25% brightness and stay on until dawn. Lights will come on at 100% brightness when motion is detected after dark. At dawn, the lights will shut off completely.
Operation (continued) 7 Adjusting the Time ECO mode: □ The motion sensor lighting is set to minimize power usage. Lights turn on with motion for 10 seconds and continue to stay on as long as motion is detected. Lights will dim to warn that lights will be shutting off soon. Smart SMART mode: □ The sensor learns from your behavior to automatically adjust the time. For example, after multiple detections in a short period, motion sensor automatically extends to the maximum time.
Care and Cleaning □ To prolong the original appearance, clean with water and soft, damp cloth only. □ Do not use paints, solvents, or other chemicals on this light fixture. They could cause a premature deterioration of the finish. This is not a defect in the finish and will not be covered by the warranty. □ Do not spray with a hose or power washer. Troubleshooting Problem The light will not come on. Possible Cause □ □ The light switch is turned off.
Troubleshooting (continued) Problem The lights stay on continuously. Possible Cause □ □ Reposition the lamp away from the motion sensor or nearby objects. □ □ The light fixture is on the same circuit as a motor, transformer, or fluorescent bulb. □ Turn the light switch that operates the fixture Off and back On again within 0.2 to 1.5 seconds. Install the light fixture on a circuit without motors, transformers, or fluorescent bulbs.
