NOTE: The system board can be removed and installed along with the thermal module attached, to preserve the thermal
bond between the system board and heat sink. In order to do so, technicians must remove the two M2x3 screws securing
the system fan to the palm-rest assembly.
Steps
1. Pry the coin-cell battery off the palm-rest assembly and unroute it from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
2. Open the latch and disconnect the USH board cable from the system board.
3. Open the latch and disconnect the LED board cable from the system board.
4. Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
5. Remove the two (M2x3) screws that secure the eDP cable bracket to the system board.
6. Lift the eDP cable bracket away from the system.
7. Peel the tape that secures the display cable to the system board.
8. Disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board.
9. Using the pull tab, disconnect the eDP cable from the connector on the system board.
10. Remove the three screws (M2x4) that secure the USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
11. Remove the USB Type-C bracket away from the computer.
12. Remove the three (M2x3) screws that secure the system board to the palm-rest assembly.
13. Lift the system board off the palm-rest assembly.
14. Flip the system board and disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the connector on the system board.
