Installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package
1. Download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package here:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=15336
2. Double-click the application to start the install.
3. Click Run.
4. Click Next on the Welcome window.
5. Accept the license agreement, and click Install.
6. Click Finish.
Installing Lync Server Stress and Performance Tool
1. Download the stress and performance tool here
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=25005
2. Double-click the .msi file, and click Run.
3. Click Next on the Welcome window.
4. Accept the license agreement, and click Next.
5. Keep the default location, and click Next.
6. Leave defaults to install all features, and click Next.
7. Click Next on the Confirmation window.
8. Click Close.
Running MaxUserPorts
1. Navigate to Microsoft Lync Server 2010LyncStressAndPerfToolLyncStress.
2. Double-click MaxUserPorts.
3. Click Yes on the Registry Editor warning.
4. Click OK.
Registering the perfmon counters
1. Open a command window, and navigate to the LyncStress folder.
2. Type regsvr32 /i /n LyncPerfToolPerf.dll, and press Enter.
3. Click OK on the confirmation popup window.
4. Type regsvr32 /i /n S4Perf.dll, and press Enter.
5. Click OK on the confirmation popup window.
6. Close the command window.
