Deleting Service
Decommissioning Services Provisioned by ASM
Deleting Service
To delete a service, perform the following steps:
1. In the left pane, click
Services.
2. On the Services page, click a service, and then in the right pane, click View Details.
3. On the
Service Details page, under Actions in the right pane, click Delete.
This action deletes the instance of the service and returns the IP/IQNs assigned to the servers that were a
part of the service. On performing this action, the Dell servers that were part of the deleted service are
rebooted, and the servers are set to PXE boot ready for the next deployment.
After deleting the service, to avoid issues in subsequent deployments, make sure that you complete the
following tasks manually:
In case of non-Dell servers, you need to Power Off the servers, for the non-Dell server to be a part of
future deployments.
Power On the servers and set the “next boot” to PXE, in case of non-Dell servers.
Remove any storage volumes created during the service deployment. If the volumes are no longer
needed, remove the volumes from the Group Manager or Storage Center GUI.
For EqualLogic storage created, remove the CHAP user created during the service deployment from
the EqualLogic Group Manager GUI.
Remove the cluster created in VMware vCenter. If the cluster is no longer needed, remove the cluster
from the VMware vCenter GUI.
In case of Hyper-V removal, perform one of the following methods to remove the created cluster
information from the Active Directory server and SCVMM server:
(Preferred) Before deleting the service, remove the servers from your domain, and perform the
following tasks:
1. Log in to SCVMM server, set each Host in Maintenance Mode, and then remove the hosts
from the cluster.
2. Remove the hosts and cluster from SCVMM.
3. Log in to each Host and remove it from the AD Domain.
4. Delete the service in ASM.
If you have already deleted the Service in ASM, perform the following tasks:

displayed), and remove the cluster from the SCVMM instance.
2. Log in to the AD server and perform the following tasks:
a. Go to the
Active Directory Users and Computers, click <Domain>, and then click
