Using your touchpad
Use the touchpad to move the cursor or select objects on the screen.
• To move the cursor, gently slide your nger over the touchpad.
• To left-click or select an object, press the left touchpad button or tap the touchpad once.
• To right-click an object, tap the right touchpad button once.
• To double-click an object, press the left touchpad button twice or tap twice on the touchpad.
• To select and move (or drag) an object, position the cursor on the object and tap twice quickly on the touchpad without removing your
nger from the touchpad after the second tap, then move the selected object by sliding your nger over the surface.
Touchpad gestures
NOTE: Some touchpad gestures may not be supported on your computer.
NOTE: You can change the touchpad gestures settings by double‑clicking the touchpad icon in the notication area.
Your computer may support Scroll, Zoom, Rotate, Flick, and Quick Launch gestures.
Table 4. List of touchpad gestures
Scroll
Pan—Move the focus on the selected object when the entire
object is not visible. Move two ngers in the desired direction to pan
scroll the selected object.
Vertical Auto‑Scroll—Scroll up or down on the active window.
Move two ngers up or down at a fast pace to start vertical
auto‑scroll.
Tap on the touchpad to stop auto‑scroll.
Horizontal Auto‑Scroll—Scroll left or right on the active window.
Move two ngers left or right at a fast pace to start horizontal
auto‑scroll.
Tap on the touchpad to stop auto scrolling.
Circular Scroll Up/Down—Scroll up or down.
In the vertical‑scroll zone at the right edge of the touchpad, move
your nger clockwise to scroll up and counterclockwise to scroll
down.
Circular Scroll Left/Right—Scroll left or right.
In the horizontal‑scroll zone at the bottom edge of the touchpad,
move your nger clockwise to scroll right and counterclockwise to
scroll left.
Zoom
One‑nger zoom—Zoom-in or zoom-out by moving one nger in
the zoom zone (at the left edge of the touchpad).
Move a nger up in the zoom zone to zoom‑in.
