Audio daughter-board
Removing the audio daughter-board
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 4 in Removing the hard drive, if applicable.
4. Remove the solid-state drive from M.2 slot three, if applicable.
5. Remove the solid-state drive from M.2 slot four, if applicable.
6. Remove the
solid-state drive interposer board, if applicable.
About this task
NOTE: After replacing the audio daughter-board, you must set up the keyboard language and color.
The following image indicates the location of the audio daughter-board and provides a visual representation of the removal
procedure.
Steps
1. Open the latch and disconnect the audio daughter-board cable from the audio daughter-board.
2. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-backlight cable from the audio daughter-board.
3. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-controller cable from the audio daughter-board.
4. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable from the audio daughter-board.
5. Disconnect the speaker cable from the audio daughter-board.
6. Remove the three screws (M2.5x2.5) that secure the audio daughter-board to the palm-rest assembly.
7. Lift the audio daughter-board at an angle off the palm-rest assembly.
