The Dell Technologies Managed Services sales team works with you to identify your network configuration and discusses
network details with you such as the following:
AManagement networkOne uplink is used for overall system management. An RJ45 or 10G SFP+ transceiver is added
to the offer for the management network connection.
B-DHost data networkThe data uplink connections are IP-based connections with speeds of 10 Gbps, 25 Gbps, 40
Gbps, or 100 Gbps. If your offer is based on Block Services, you can use a Fibre Channel connection instead. Your offer uses
one of the following configurations:
BStandard Block Services Four uplinks to the customer network are used for iSCSI data and replication.
CStandard Block Services with customer-supplied Fibre Channel switchFour uplinks to the customer
network are used for replication, plus four Fibre Channel connections to your Fibre Channel network.
DStandard File ServicesEight uplinks per rack to the customer network are used for file and telemetry and
monitoring.
Breakout cablesIf breakout cables are required for File Services, such as for 10 Gbps and 25 Gbps network connections,
your sales representative provides details about the cables needed. Dell does not provide breakout cables.
VPN Connection
A continuous network connection using an Internet VPN between your infrastructure and Dell Technologies is required for Dell
Technologies Managed Services. Dell Technologies provides two VPN connections for resiliency, however only one customer
connection is required. Responsibilities for Internet services, network and management equipment, and VPN management are
specified in the Remote Access Agreement.

Information about the VPN connection is provided for reference only. It does not supersede the provisions in the
Terms and Offer Description for your purchased services. For details about VPN connection requirements, see the Remote
Access Agreement provided with your offer.
The network design for remote connectivity requires that you and Dell Technologies follow a highly secure protocol. You must
adhere to Dell Technologies standard protocol configuration as advised during Service Enablement, and as updated by Dell
Technologies from time to time at Dell Technologies absolute discretion.
When you order APEX Data Storage Services, Dell Technologies requests the following information and access unless otherwise
specified in the Offer Description:
The public IPs required for connections and the name of the primary connection site.
The pre-shared key.
Any VPN Phase 1 and VPN Phase 2 connection parameter exception settings.
Ports must be opened as described in the Offer Description.
