Removes power from a slot.
SYNOPSIS slotpoweroff slot [-force]
slotpoweroff --help
DESCRIPTION Use this command to turn off the power to a blade unit. The slot must have a valid blade unit present and
the blade unit must be of a type that can be powered off.
Beginning with Fabric OS v7.3.0, this command is supported on Condor2 or Condor3 core blades also.
There is no frame loss when there are no ICLs connected.
This command, when executed on a core blade, displays a warning message and prompts for
confirmation as powering off the last core blade will disable the chassis.
NOTES The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may be in
place. Refer to Chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS Commands" and Appendix A, "Command Availability" for
details.
OPERANDS This command has the following operand:
slot [-force]
Specify the slot number of the blade to be powered down. This operand is
required.
On core blades, the command prompts for confirmation unless you use the -force
option.
--help
Displays command usage.
EXAMPLES To power off blade unit 3:
switch:admin> slotpoweroff 3
Slot 3 is being powered off
