Viewing NPIV port configuration information
Fabric OS allows you to see N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) port configuration information using the portcfgshow and switchshow
commands.
1. Connect to the switch and log in using an account assigned to the admin role.
2. Enter portcfgshow to view the switch ports information.
The following example shows whether a port is configured for NPIV:
switch:admin> portcfgshow

3. Enter switchshow to view NPIV information for a given port.
If a port is an F_Port, and you enter switchshow, then the port WWN of the N_Port is returned. For an NPIV F_Port, there are
multiple N_Ports, each with a different port WWN. The switchshow command output indicates whether or not a port is an NPIV
F_Port, and identifies the number of virtual N_Ports behind it.
The following example displays the typical output from the switchshow command.
switch:admin> switchshow

4. Use the portshow

command to view the NPIV attributes and all the N_Port (physical and virtual) port WWNs that
are listed under “portWwn” for connected device(s).
The following example displays the typical output for this command.
switch:admin> portshow 2
